Deraya boasts one of the Arab world’s most inspiring university campuses. The campus master plan was designed to mirror the university’s envisioned role as an “artery of knowledge” located right in the heart of Upper Egypt. This 3-phased EGP 550 Million campus also features key characteristics that help foster a sense of belonging to Deraya University’s community.

Deraya’s master plan was conceived to promote a collaborative learning environment and to emphasize the university’s importance to Upper Egypt. Deraya is therefore modeled after the ubiquitous Nile River, the country’s “artery of life”. Deraya’s design allows it to draw on this powerful Nile connection and deliver an equally commanding message positioning itself as the region’s “artery of knowledge”.
